Rio de Janeiro, May 29, 2023 - TotalEnergies and the Government of Rio de Janeiro announce this Monday the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the development of offshore wind generation in the State. The agreement, with a 2-year duration, contemplates the collaboration of the company for studies related to fiscal and tax incentives and the expansion of the GRID system for future projects.

"We are excited about this partnership with the Government because it reinforces TotalEnergies' synergy with the offshore wind market expansion movement. The Company has recognized experience in the segment. The signing is aligned with our strategy of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and with our commitment to invest in the country for the long term", says Charles Fernandes, General Director of TotalEnergies EP Brazil and Country Chair of the Company in Brazil.

At the end of 2022, TotalEnergies signed a non- binding MoU with Prumo Logística, a holding company controlled by EIG and responsible for the development of Porto do Açu, for studies aimed at the installation of logistical support bases in Açu to support wind projects that may be developed by TotalEnergies.
